I understand everything you say, but Josh is clearly trying to undermine CiA here.

Why do you have to come across as so damn reasonable David?
There I am, building meself up for a bit of character assassination, and you go and take the wind out of my sails ![]()

When we were a Kingdom it was run by a King
When we were an Empire it was run by an Empress
Now we're a country we're run by a..........
It's the Valium I think.

Hmm, OK, let's see how many are interested. If they are only after 10 a side then it shouldn't worry us.
BTW we really need to keep Rich and Gadge on 'our' side here - if they jump ship and start bigging up Justin's event then we will be on a slippery slope. No sign of it yet but Matlock is Rich's local site.
Back to Josh - there has already been debate on the actual cost of Longmore so I don't think there is a lot of mileage there. The best thing that can happen will be if Longmore is a flop - punters have paid top dollar and will be expecting to get their money's worth. Not to mention RAU & SoF getting pissed off. Josh went to Beltring to drum up business for Carentan from the reeactors - but I doubt there will be any bookers. I posted a bit about our December game on PST! - 54 views, no posts but a flurry of 'guests' to our forum to see what's what! (But no bookers).

Looking at Justin's scenario he's clearly borrowing a load of Josh's kit too, not doubt at a price!

By the way, it's Mick who owns F&O Matlock, Justin does the organising... (can't believe Mick comes all they way over from Newark - must end up with pocket money at the end of a Saturday!)

Martin is getting stuck in to Josh, demanding a booking list - nice of him to be our proxy!

Lots of users online!!! Is this as a result of the AI article do you think?
72 guests at the moment. Over 300 people online yesterday.
S

I've been making some changes - I've added a 'who has been online' section (in addition to 'who is online') as I was curious to the real picture.
So, no, nothing to do with Gadge and AI - who have generated next to zero increased interest in WW2 airsoft generally or the forum in particular!
What does this tell me? Well, previously the number of people using the forum at the same time might be anywhere from 4 to 38. But the new data shows that yesterday 104 registered forum users came online at some point of other during the day. This shows that the service is used by a broad spectrum of registered users - not just the vocal ones. Even more interesting 210 guests visited the forum during the day - twice as many as registered punters! This is something we must exploit, not only to try and get them to register but also turn up to games.
I think some work is needed to make the forum less scary to casual viewers - I'm sure they must get the wrong impression as we have such a broad spectrum of posters. One change I have been working on is the 'portal'. Sometime soon I'll switch this to the default interface - it gives access to all the important bits of the forum quickly but also has a welcome message that is only seen by unregistered forum users. It's here we need to get the CiA message over....

I've posted a rather leading reply to Scaleyback's complaint about money.
If someone can afford to buy a place at our game and In The Pocket (with all the associated costs that entails) they aren't poor IMHO.
I'm putting things into perspective for him. ![]()

Heh, I daren't post on that thread - he got what he deserved! Strikes me from our (long) conversation at Pocket that he is the sort to blame everyone else for his self-inflicted woes
Having said that clamping and the huge (and escalating) release fees are tantamount to legalised highway robbery and quite scandalous in many ways.

er simple answer really to people like him
GET USED TO BEING POOR
Hah! I just made the cat jump 'cos I laughed out loud!

Harsh but true ........
I always say to twonks who complain loudly about their crappy low paid manual jobs .....not my fault you couldn't be assed to go to school is it ?!
Thing is, he doesn't KNOW poor.....yet.
If he can prioritise playing a WW2 airsoft game then hi ISN'T poor.

Bugger. Remember Stubblehopper registered the domain name ww2airsoft.co.uk ? The two year registration was due for renewal today and I was hoping he not bother and I would grab it. He has gawn and renewed for another two years. ![]()

Twat. Hang on a minute, I thought cybersquatting was illegal now. He's not using it as far as I can tell.

You want to take him to court? ![]()

No, I want to kill him.
